Images of British Lichens

Lecanora farinaria Borrer

Thallus thin, smooth and patchy to thicker and areolate, whitish grey to cream, with scattered, floury to granular soralia forming small mounds that may coalesce; apothecia uncommon, with thick, thalline, abundantly sorediate margins and brown to black discs. On worked wood and sometimes on bark, widespread but local, apparently more frequent in the north but no doubt overlooked.
